Swivel industrial caster with solid PA6 wheel, mounted with bolt hole
Industrial caster in a swivel bracket with solid wheel in PA6, mounted with bolt hole
This is an industrial caster in a swiveling bracket with tread and hub in PA6, fastened with a bolt hole and equipped with a total lock brake. The bolt hole means the caster is screwed down with a single through bolt through the bracket, a solution that works well when there is already a bolt hole in the structure or when you want to build low. With double ball bearings and a high hardness, this is a wheel made for steady rolling in the larger diameters.
The PA6 tread sits at around 83 Shore D here, well up in the hard register of nylon. The harder the running surface, the less it gives under load, and the lower the rolling resistance on a hard floor. The wheel starts easily and keeps rolling without a struggle, because the force is not swallowed by a yielding tread. Nylon stands up to abrasion, moisture and the ordinary chemicals in an industrial setting, and it keeps its shape even under a long spell of load.
A hard tread has a downside. It does not absorb shocks and can be noisier when the wheel rolls over uneven ground, and it is not meant for sensitive floors. If you want quiet and shock absorption, a softer rubber or polyurethane wheel is better, but they lose out on rolling resistance and on load capacity compared with PA6. The strength here lies in rolling easily and carrying steadily on a hard-wearing surface.
The hub is in PA6, light and corrosion-free, and inside sit double ball bearings. Two rows of balls spread the load over more contact points and give smooth, stable running even when the cart is heavily laden, which shows clearly in the coarser diameters. The series carries up to 300 kg per wheel. The total lock brake locks the wheel and the swivel at the same time, so the cart stands safely parked during loading or work.
The diameters lie between 125 and 200 mm. In this range the wheel rolls easily over joints, cable ducts and thresholds, and a larger diameter lowers the rolling resistance further; a smaller one keeps the overall height down where that is needed. The swivel bracket turns freely through 360 degrees, so even a heavier cart is easy to steer and turn in a confined space.
Where does it fit? A PA6 wheel in a swivel bracket with bolt hole, double ball bearings and a brake belongs under heavier transport carts, machine carts and rolling underframes in workshops and warehouses. The double bearings make it a good choice where the cart is often fully laden and still has to roll smoothly, and the bolt hole simplifies mounting on an existing frame. The hard tread is happiest on polished concrete.
Think about the operating environment. PA6 handles moisture and normal indoor temperature without swelling, but a hard wheel in a larger diameter wants an even floor to run quietly and not hammer. Make sure the bolt hole fits your bolt and that the total lock brake can be reached with your foot in the parking position.
