T-handles TH20 with a bushing are compact pull handles in polyamide PA6 with one property that stands out from the crowd: the thread depth is a full 17 mm. That gives many thread turns in engagement and makes the handle suited to joints loaded in tension, where a shallower threaded hole would have put the whole load on a few thread turns. The thread sits in a brass bushing and the handle is fitted onto a stud or screw like a nut.
There are three versions, all with a bar width of 50 mm and a height of 26 mm: the threads M5, M6 and M8. You pick the thread as a variant on the product page. The uniform size makes TH20 easy to standardize on; the same handle can come back in several places in a machine without the shapes clashing, whatever bolt happens to sit behind it.
The shape is the classic T: a crossbar at a right angle to the mount, so the pulling force goes straight along the direction of the thread and torque can be applied through the bar. The 50 mm width gives room for two or three fingers, which is plenty for hatches, pull out drawers and catches. PA6 is tough and impact resistant, takes the handling of a workshop environment and feels good in the hand even in cold premises; the surface is black and matte.
The brass bushing is more than a material detail. A thread in plastic wears with frequent screwing on and off, while brass against steel gives a run that stays easy year after year. Combined with the deep thread you get a handle that can be screwed on and off daily, for example on a fixture that is changed between parts, without the engagement going slack over time.
Typical applications in Swedish industry are inspection hatches on machine guards, locking of replaceable fixture parts, draw bolts in special machines, adjusting screws on feed units and hand operated catches on measuring equipment. What they have in common is that somebody has to be able to grip, pull and turn without tools; the T-handle is the simplest answer to that need and calls for no explanation to the operator.
The difference from the sister series TH10 lies mainly in the thread depth and the proportions. TH10 comes in more widths and threads but with a shallower thread depth, while TH20 puts everything into a deep thread in a compact format. If the handle is to carry a tensile load through many cycles, TH20 is the safer choice; if you need a larger bar width for a whole hand grip, the choice points to TH10.
Ordinary rules for threaded joints apply when fitting. Make sure the bolt is long enough to use the thread depth but not so long that it bottoms out in the bushing before the handle sits against the face, and use a lock nut if the joint is exposed to vibration. Full dimensions, including hub diameter and detail tolerances, are in the manufacturer's data sheet that is linked from the product page.
Standardization is an underrated argument when picking parts. When the same handle comes back on several hatches and fixtures across a machine park, both the spare parts stock and the threshold for the maintenance staff drop; everyone knows how the handle behaves and what to order when one breaks. TH20 with its uniform size and three thread choices is built for exactly that role, and the matte black version fits in with most of what leaves a Swedish machine shop. That makes the choice easy even for somebody drawing their first machine.
