A tube foot is a small detail that decides how a finished structure feels. A frame standing on bare tube ends rattles, slides and scratches the floor; the same frame with feet in the tube ends stands steady and quiet. Tube Feet RF30 are push in feet in PA6 for round tubes. The foot is pressed into the tube end and gives the leg a flat, floor friendly finish that at the same time closes the tube against dirt and moisture. The difference shows up right away in the room: less noise, no scratches in the floor covering and an end finish that looks thought through.

The series comes in five sizes for tubes with an outside diameter of 28, 32, 35, 38 and 40 mm. Each size is matched to a specific wall thickness between 1.0 and 2.0 mm, since it is the inside diameter of the tube that decides how hard the push in part grips. The foot height under the tube is 8 mm in all sizes, so legs with different tube dimensions in the same structure still end up at the same level. It sounds obvious, but anyone who has mixed feet from different series knows how annoying a few millimeters of difference becomes on a four legged table.

The material is PA6 with a matte black surface. The nylon is tough and impact resistant; it takes frames being dragged across concrete floors, takes knocks from pallets and forklift wheels and stands in environments with cutting fluid, oil and cleaning agents without turning brittle. The spring in the material also means that the foot stays in place by its own tension, with no glue, screw or expander at all. The matte surface hides scratches better than a glossy one, and when the foot needs replacing after a few years of wear it is simply pried out so a new one can be tapped in.

The uses are many and everyday: bases for workbenches and packing tables, machine guards, frames, railings, display racks and store fittings. In furniture production the push in foot is the standard solution on chair and table legs in steel tube, and in the workshop it sits on everything from welding gates to the leg frames of tool boards. Since the foot is black and discreet it works just as well against powder coated tube as against chrome plated or untreated tube. The maintenance side also benefits from keeping a small stock at hand; a worn or lost foot is replaced in seconds without any work on the frame itself.

Mounting follows the same craft rules as all push in parts. Cut the tube square and deburr the inside, otherwise the edge chafes the push in part and the grip gets worse. The foot is pressed in by hand or tapped into place with a rubber mallet. If it sits loose you have probably chosen a version for the wrong wall thickness; measure the real wall of the tube with a caliper before you go up or down in size. If the frame works in chilled or very damp spaces it is worth knowing that nylon takes up some of the moisture in the air; for a tube foot this has no practical meaning, the grip in the tube is not affected. Full dimensions for each version are in the manufacturer's data sheet.

Keep in mind that RF30 is a fixed foot without an adjusting screw. On uneven floors where the frame has to be leveled, threaded adjustable feet combined with expanding mounts are a better choice, while the fixed foot wins on simplicity and overall height everywhere the floor is flat. For most tables, racks and railings the fixed foot is plenty.
