Hollow Bar in PA6 C OL 1000 mm yellow

This is a hollow bar made of PA6 C OL, oil filled cast polyamide 6 with the oil built into the material.

The material is semi-crystalline and has a melting point of 217 °C.

The density is 1.15 g/cm³ and the moisture absorption at 23 degrees and 50 percent relative humidity is 1.9 percent.

The yield strength is 75 MPa, the elongation at break 45 percent and the tensile modulus 3050 MPa.

The sliding friction against steel is about 0.15 dry, compared with 0.36 for unfilled cast PA6.

The continuous service temperature is 108 °C, 160 °C for short periods and the lowest working temperature -40 °C. The fire rating is HB.

Used for bearing bushings, slide strips, chain guides, wear rails and other sliding surfaces that have to run dry without regular relubrication.

The tube can be sawn, milled, drilled and turned with tools meant for engineering plastics. When fitting bearing bushings and the like it is important to compensate for the moisture uptake so the dimensions hold after assembly.
