This is a swiveling caster with a tread in cast polyurethane and a hub in PA6, built for carts and equipment that has to be maneuverable in tight spaces. The bracket rotates through 360 degrees, which lets you steer freely around corners and between racks without lifting. The tread has a hardness of 98 degrees Shore A, a firm polyurethane that takes load and is still gentler on the floor than bare plastic or steel.

Polyurethane at this hardness gives a low rolling resistance. The wheel gets moving without unnecessary force and keeps rolling easily once it is in motion, which you notice on a picking cart or a rolling table with many starts and stops. The material takes wear well and stands up to the oil and grease that end up on a workshop floor. PUR normally leaves no black marks behind, unlike some dark rubber grades.

Where does this wheel sit compared with softer and harder alternatives? A soft rubber or elastomer wheel is quieter and absorbs shocks better on uneven ground, but loses load capacity and rolls more stiffly. A hard nylon wheel rolls even more easily and carries more, but makes more noise and can scratch sensitive floors. PUR at 98 Shore A lands in between: firm enough for load and rolling, yielding enough not to wear on the floor.

The PA6 hub is light, corrosion-free and handles both moisture and most chemicals in a workshop. That makes the caster immune to rust in damp settings and keeps the weight down compared with a metal hub. The wheel can be fitted with a plain bearing, a ball bearing or double ball bearings. The plain bearing is maintenance-free and handles dirt and moisture, but has somewhat higher rolling resistance. Ball bearings give lower rolling resistance and a smoother run, and double ball bearings spread the load over two rows of balls for a stable run when the cart is heavily loaded.

The wheels come in diameters from 80 to 125 mm and carry up to 150 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is short. The bracket is mounted with a bolt hole, a single bolt hole through the plate, which suits fastening the caster to an existing mounting point. You can add a wheel brake that locks the wheel itself, or a total lock brake that locks both the wheel and the swivel so the cart stands still in both directions.

Where does it fit? Swivel casters in PUR with a PA6 hub sit under serving carts, assembly carts, tool cabinets on wheels and smaller machine underframes indoors. The combination of a swiveling bracket and low rolling resistance makes it a good choice where staff move loads by hand without straining. It works well on sealed or ground concrete, tile and epoxy floors.

Think about the operating environment. PUR is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp settings. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for polyurethane and does not affect function.
